We back. Not only back at the top of the eastern conference, but for another match review. The build-up of this one consisted of a Charlotte team desperately needing a win against a Atlatna team who was ready to take over. My morning drive had thoughts of both failure and big wins, I really did not know how this one would pan out since the series is split at 1-1.
But arriving at the bank was interesting as we had to take a ramp to our seats since they were technically in the club level (shoutout to Atlanta Untied’s free away ticket program) amazing tribute by the fans for Anton Walkes, and it was match time.
And instantly a brilliantly done press from Atlanta causes a Amar Sejdic tackle that falls to the feet of Almada, then Wiley, 1-0. Peachtree press was as prominent as Harry Potter in all 8 movies, as Wiley finds space off of a throw in and finds Araujo for 2-0. At this point in my grey colored seat I was so confused on how we were playing so well. Everything we did on both sides of the ball was so effective it was getting silly. 3-0 came from another break from Atlanta, but that break was created from Miles Robinson, which made it even more sweet. I’m also convinced that Amar Sejdic is the 8 we have been looking for all this time, he was class. Brooks Lennon only played 4 crosses compared to 16 the week before, he looked more comfortbale to either find Araujo or play it back instead of hammering a cross in. And how about Purata and Ibarra, coming into the season I was so sceptical on how they would perform and both are fantastic to say the least.
This is my interesting stat of the week featuring a quote tweet from Chattanooga FC and player Markus Naglestad themselves:
With Wiley’s 2 goals and 1 assist, he should win player of the matchweek, and maybe alongside a new fifa card:
Alright enough from me, I will talk in depth about this match and Portland on Saturday on the Resurge The Spike ATL podcast this week.
BUT NOW LET US DO A TWEET REVIEW FROM YESTERDAY SIUUUUUUUU
